I presented this 1 hour ABEs Webinar with slides to the Association for Pre and Perinatal Psychology and Health (APPPAH), with updates to the 10 categories of adverse babyhood experiences (ABEs) I’ve identified that influence health. In my talk I:
- share 2 themes that may be common factors among early risk factors
- introduce our type 1 diabetes research study (see the survey here).
This ABEs webinar includes:
- important research not yet well known in medicine or medical training
- initial results from the ABEs survey on this blog
- indicators to look for in babies, children and mothers that provide potential opportunities for prevention and repair of chronic health conditions with an emphasis on how none of these experiences are the child’s or mother’s fault
- asthma case study, risk factors and recovery in a 9 year old child
- the type 1 diabetes (T1D) study I am conducting with Tony Madrid, PhD
This free ABEs webinar is 1 hour. Includes Q&A. Watch here on APPPAH’s website.
APPPAH is a nonprofit organization dedicated to education and informing health professionals and families about the science in the prenatal and perinatal sciences. Study Update
In this webinar I introduce the type 1 diabetes research study I am conducting with colleague Tony Madrid beginning at 41:45 minutes.
We are making great progress and still seek responses from mothers of children in good health with no asthma or other chronic health conditions to take our online survey, which takes about 15 minutes.
If you have already taken the survey for a child with type 1 diabetes and have another child who has no chronic health conditions, consider taking the survey for that child as well.
Participate in the survey if you are:
- A mother 18 years old or older
- Mother of a child 18 years old or younger
